 Josh Simmons injury update: What Ryan Day said about Ohio State football’s starting left tackle


Ohio State football lost to Oregon on Saturday, 32-21, in Eugene, Oregon. The loss was parlayed with appalling news in regards to the situation with beginning left tackle Josh Simmons.

Coach Ryan Day said, "It doesn't look great" after the game about whether Simmons will return this season.
Pro Football Focus says that Simmons is the best pass blocker for the Ohio State Buckeyes. He had played 825 snaps last year and had played 283 this season before Saturday's game.

Simmons is a San Diego, California, native. In the 2021 recruiting class, according to the 247Sports composite rankings, he was a four-star prospect.

San Diego State was where he played his first two seasons of collegiate football. In advance of the 2023 campaign, he made the move to Ohio State.

Michalski is a senior out of Floyd Focal Secondary School in Floyds Handles, Indiana.
